Small Black Worms Outside House

Often millipedes and other pests enter the home.

Small black worms outside house. My husband told me there was another in the house yesterday. Theyre attracted to moisture which is why you find them under the kitchen sink. I cant keep up with them. If they survive theyll grow molt and continue to make an appearance. They get in the house through door jams and foundation. Could it be from my dogs.

Asked july 13 2016 1016 pm edt. These black worms are actually larvae. I found several dozen 12 inch worms on the outside of my house under the balcony. They are gross and i am embarrassed to have people stop by my house because of them.

I get them every year about this time and they stay until frost. Curling into a circle. I live on the mississippi river and water our lawn from the river. Millipedes however can be drawn to the moisture dark spaces and organic matter that can hide under floors and in walls.

The smallest brownish black worms may be the result of a very recent hatching. Pretty much everyone who has ever lived in canberra would at some point have encountered those pesky little black worms that are about 5 to 8 centimetres long which usually come into the house at night time and curl up into a tight spiral if you disturb them.
